I'm Alicia Marie Hicks.
I am the owner of Alicia Marie’s Photography - NWI. I am the wife of a former airman and incredible father, Colby Hicks. I am Caydence’s, Adalynn’s, and Kaylynn’s mommy. My girls range from 11 to 4 years old.. For 12 incredible years, photography has been my passion.
I am a makeup lover, singer, and obsessed with all things artistic. I shoot every wedding with every piece of my heart. I am very passionate about what I do… and I love my job and my family more than anything in the world. I am ridiculously laid back... and I like to believe I am super fun! I love kids and animals. I am the type of photographer that values your day and these most important moments in your lifetime. I am also the photographer you tend to keep around as a lifelong friend. When you meet me you'll be able to tell my heart is as big as the sky.
I also believe any and all love is love and that is what makes life so incredibly beautiful. I am inclusive and an ally to everyone who is true to who they are. It is not up to me to decide what love truly is at the end of the day. It is my job to capture it. I am your new hype girl. Life is too short to be anything less than happy.
I have been seeing the beauty in nature since I was a little girl. I chase sunsets and live for summer nights. I love glitter and and shiny things. I love boho decor and growing up I had a champagne taste on a beer budget kinda mentality. I will DIY anything. I also love to help others achieve their dreams and sometimes even help to a fault.
I love to garden and to sit outside with my goats and drink my morning coffee. I also enjoy my front porch in the country. I live the dream but I am have to say I feel extremely grateful you are choosing me to capture yours.

I can actually sing very well. Music was my first love ever since I was a little girl. I am a leo so when it comes to creative things I tend to naturally love to master them. Photography is no exception.

What makes me different
I am a natural born leader which helps me to be a great lead photographer on your wedding day. However, mix that in with my laid back personality - and you not only get a good leader but you get one that isn't pushy or rude. I lead with positivity and I cheer on my couples and the parties I work with. I try to make it all easy and seamless as possible. I am the perfect mix of firm and fun. I have a natural way with kids and I can handle about any dad joke that comes my way. I'm prepared for anything as I have seen everything - but most of all I am prepared to lead your day, work with your coordinator, and make this process smooth for you! I am a mom 0f 3, there is nothing I am not ready for.
The very first wedding I shot was in a dark theater. I was brand new to photography and that was a heck of a challenge. Since that day, I have shot well over 300+ weddings in many different lighting scenarios and locations. I am experienced in long church ceremonies and short and sweet ceremonies. I am prepared for anything. I like to believe that my experience with these weddings can take some stress off of you. The one thing that I get compliment on is how I can make a not so ideal background work out. I create magic in any location and I strive to make things as easy as possible for my brides and grooms. I am never nervous on wedding days - I am ready and willing to get going right away. It is like the back of my hand, I love what I do.
I have this ability to see a photo before I take it. I know at this point in my career I have mostly mastered lighting. When a lot of photographers hide from the sunset, I run as fast as I can to get to it to get you that kind of shot and magic. I have a system of posing you both and making golden hour as magical as it can be combined with your love and the beauty of it. I have an eye for lighting and what will look best in a portrait. When it comes to light I can do sunset photos, silhouettes, (night & day) light up from behind shots, rain shots that are lit up at night, and I also know how to beautiful indoor photography. I have also even recreated the sun sometimes with my light. It comes in handy for my brides that have less than perfect weather on their days.
